Round and Round she goes, where she stops, nobody knows: Irregular Cycles

If your period does not consistently come at the same time,  i.e. it starts on varying days (like sometimes day 25, sometimes day 30), you have what would be considered to be an irregular period. From an Asian Medicine standpoint, this often means that the energy of the kidneys needs to be strengthened, although there are a number of other factors that could be contributing as well.

If some months your cycle does not come at all (also known as amenorrhea), it could be that your hormones are making an adjustment to something new, like moving to a new location, or some other stressor. Believe it or not, going from being celibate to sexually active, or a change in sexual partners, can affect your hormones and change when/if your cycle comes. If your cycle is missing in action, but you are so certain that you are not pregnant, take a pregnancy test anyway (it never hurts) and definitely seek the help of a competent women’s health specialist.
